Education
I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and sociology with a spanish minor at Alma College. Then, two more years were spent at Greenville Technological College to get an associates degree in their Respiratory Therapy program. Many years later, I studied and got a TEFL certificate before leaving for China.
Experience
Four years and four months were spent in China teaching all levels from kindergarten to adult education. I have a wide variety of materials from which to choose to specialize a plan specifically for you. It all depends on your needs and age level. The best thing about teaching ESL is the creativity that can be tapped into. My brand of lesson is a combination of entertainment and education or otherwise known as edutainment. However, for the more serious adult learners, our materials and conversations can be memorable, interesting and built on a solid, layered approach. I specialize in phonics and reading plus the IELTS examination. That, however, is not the extent of my abilities and materials.

Hobbies
Life is meant to be savored and I have a lot of interests. Camping in the mountains or by a lake with my pets while preparing fried ice cream is as enjoyable as finding a museum, cafe or art gallery in Seattle. Reading has gone more towards nonfiction as of late. There's so much out there we can learn and think about.
